
Police escort Atris Hussein, a Lebanese man suspected of planning an attack, to the criminal court to extend his detention in Bangkok January 17, 2012. The court approved detention for a further 12 days and he was sent to Bangkok Remand Prison. This detention period can be extended six times, each for a period of 12 days, by which time the public prosecutor must either bring charges against him or he will be released by the court. Hussein has been accused with the illegal possession of controlled chemical substance ammonium nitrate. He could face up to five years in prison.
